Regatta (Festival) Catering Assistants / Kitchen Porters
Henley Regatta Tuesday 27th June to Sunday 2nd July 2023
£10.90 per hour
Regatta is a six-day event set in the grounds of Phyllis Court Club, on the banks of the River Thames. We will have a number of dining venues and options during the festival ranging from hog roast to fine dining.
Working under the guidance of senior catering staff, you will be required to support in the provision of the catering. You will ensure that the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with our health and safety policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for assisting in serving meals and stocking the staff canteen in a timely and efficient manner.
The role is very hands on, so a can do, and proactive approach is essential and forms part of our One Team ethos.
CRITERIA
- You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for this role.
- You must be available for work for the full 7 day period between 27th June and 3rd July 2023 early shifts starting as early as 09.00am and late shifts ending as late as midnight.
- Full training will be given.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Basic food preparation e.g., washing, peeling, helping to prepare salads and desserts
- Washing up, cleaning and clearing all kitchen areas.
- Unloading and putting away deliveries.
- Emptying bins, sweeping and mopping floors.
- Ensuring all equipment is clean and put away correctly.
- Good personal hygiene.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS YOU WILL NEED
- Ability to lift, carry and stand on your feet for 8 to 10 hours each day.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work long hours.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to use initiative and work independently without direct supervision.
UNIFORM
Comfortable clothing, jeans or work trousers and T-Shirt, closed toe shoes with a good sole (no Flip Flops or sandals).
