In the role of Assessment Manager, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing the assessment strategy for British Airways (BA). Your responsibilities will include the selection and design of high-quality, fit-for-purpose assessments for a diverse range of roles across all levels of our organisation.
Working closely with in-house recruitment specialists and business areas, you will provide expert advice on best practices for assessment methodology, ensuring objectivity, validity, reliability, fairness, reasonable adjustments, and non-discrimination. Your expertise will contribute to the overall positive experience of candidates and business areas alike, promoting a culture of excellence in Assessment Centre, psychometric, and selection practices.
As part of your accountability, you will ensure the appropriate use of psychometric ability testing and personality profiles, adhering to the guidelines set by British Airways and the British Psychological Society (BPS) as required.
To stay ahead of the evolving landscape, you will actively share knowledge and stay updated with legislation, as well as new testing and assessment innovation. This will enable you to contribute to the continuous improvement of our assessment practices.

About you:
- You hold essential qualifications, including the BPS Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing: Ability (Level A) and Personality (Level B intermediate), along with a BPS accredited postgraduate degree in Occupational Psychology or significant experience in assessment design.
- Possess accreditation or familiarity with assessments such as OPQ, Wave, and HDS.
- You are a registered Chartered Occupational Psychologist with the HCPC or actively working towards achieving that status.
- Experienced in working with large organizations across all levels, demonstrating effective time management and the ability to work cohesively within a team.
- Your strong influencing, communication, and consultancy skills enable you to build credibility and effectively connect with leaders across the business at every level.
- With an eye for attention to detail you deliver quality work within tight deadlines while balancing best practices with practical considerations.
- Experienced in stakeholder management you can effectively communicate sophisticated psychometric concepts to clients with limited experience in this field
