Project and Resource Managers

Bristol

£49,613 to £54,222 plus generous Civil Service defined benefit

The Office for Students (OfS) is the independent regulator of higher education in England – we regulate higher education on behalf of all students. Our mission is to ensure that every student, whatever their background, has a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers.

As a project and resource manager at the OfS, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference to the delivery of projects for the benefit of students.

Working with senior leaders in project teams, you will ensure that work is thought through, planned and sequenced well, all while keeping a strong focus on ensuring we realise project benefits. You will ensure that the right resource finds its way to projects at the right time, working closely with or within the organisation’s Delivery Team.

Job description

The types of projects you’ll be involved in include

  • Further developing the Delivery Team’s resource allocation and management activities, including the likely procurement and roll out of new planning and resourcing software.
  • Establishing the Office for Students’ functions, systems and processes in relation to freedom of speech and academic freedom.

You will be adept at establishing and maintaining project systems and tools, and ensuring these are used efficiently and effectively to make real impact on delivery. And as well as technical ability, you will build and sustain relationships – including management and with contractors – that allow you to understand and influence the achievement of positive outcomes. Sound like something you could do? We’d love to hear from you.
