Job description
Responsibility for the preparation of the Practice before Surgery.
HOURS are:
Monday 13.00 - 18.30
Wednesday 08.30 - 13.30
Friday 13.00 - 18.00
(a) Opening the premises.
(b) Disarming the Practice alarm system.
(c) Reporting the telephone service to the provider.
(d) Preparing the consulting/waiting areas, including ensuring that an adequate supply of stationery is available.
(e) Ensuring the smooth transition of Patient / Doctor encounters. Providing any additional supporting records or documentation.
2. Responsibility for providing patients with a high standard of service. This includes:-
(a) Receiving and routing patients on arrival.
(b) Handling general enquiries and explaining the surgery procedures, ensuring familiarity with Practice Protocols and their application.
(c) Making new and follow-up appointments.
(d) Handling telephone enquiries.
(e) Following procedure for registering new patients, including Temporary Residents, and tracking of relevant documentation.
(f) Receiving and recording requests for home visits.
(g) Receiving and communicating requests for emergency visits.
(h) Arranging transport for patients.
(i) Ensure patients confidentiality at all times.
3. Responsibility for maintaining efficient administration practices. This includes:-
(a) Filing, extracting and archiving records, where applicable.
(b) Scanning and filing mail, where applicable.
(c) Maintaining supplies of stationery etc. required for use in reception area.
4. Responsibility in assisting the Partners in ensuring the delivery of first class Primary Care. This includes:-
(a) Receiving and communicating messages to all the Primary Health Care Team.
(b) Ensuring a smooth transition of queries regarding Prescriptions and Results.
5. The responsibility for the preparation of the Practice after surgery. This includes:-
(a) Tidying the waiting/consulting room areas.
(b) Ensuring that your working area is left tidy and ready for use by other colleagues.
(c) Ensuring that unresolved or urgent messages/communications are passed over.
(d) Locking all doors and windows and switching off relevant appliances.
(e) Ensuring the answering system is switched on and checked.
(f) Closing the premises and the computer system.
(g) Initiating the Practice alarm system.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15.5 per week
Salary: £10.76-£11.00 per hour
