Job summary
We are looking to recruit an experienced customer service professional to join our friendly and supportive reception team. You will be responsible for providing a high quality reception service to all visitors to the health centre. Wellsbourne Healthcare values accessibility and expects all receptionists to help us to create a welcoming and approachable atmosphere in our reception area.
Please note; we are recruiting for specific hours at this time. You must be available to work afternoons, including Fridays, until 6-6.30pm. This position is not suitable for home or remote-working and cannot accommodate annualised hours.
Main duties of the job
Our busy reception team are responsible for answering all patient queries received by phone and welcoming and assisting patients who visit us in person.
You will be expected to book appointments for patients, to direct patients to alternative services where appropriate, and to assist patients with all queries to the best of your ability. Wellsbourne Healthcare provides an enhanced reception service, which aims to reduce health inequalities in our patient population. This means that you may find yourself assisting patients with any number of questions relating to their health and social care. Full training will be provided, so that you can handle these queries with confidence, but we expect you to maintain a non-judgemental attitude and to help us uphold our ethos of accessibility for all.
In addition to making a wonderful first impression, booking appointments and directing patients, our reception team register patients, invite patients for routine health checks, provide administrative support to our clinical team, help to manage incoming letters and emails, look after incoming and outgoing medical records, and generally support the smooth running of the practice.

Wellsbourne Healthcare CIC was established in 2018 to improve the health and wellbeing of patients living in this area of high deprivation within Brighton, by providing our community with stable, local, integrated primary healthcare.
We now have over 8,000 patients registered with us and are continuing to grow steadily. Our multi-disciplinary clinical team are supported by a wonderful reception team of eight. We are looking for an additional receptionist to join us and help us to look after our growing list of patients.
