Job description

Bernard Matthews are recruiting for an Offline Setter at our site in Great Witchingham to provide quick response and technical support to optimise the factory equipment, start-ups and changeovers. Complete basic maintenance tasks and actively seeks continuous improvement activities to deliver further business benefits.

The position is 6am to 6pm on a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern.

Free transport available from Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Dereham.

• Ensure strict conformance to all H&S procedures
• To support the Team Leader in ensuring the machinery is working correctly and efficiency at all times
• To set up all lines ready for production to start and complete pre startup check sheets
• Make sure that planned change overs are achieved on time according with the production plan
• To detect/ resolve any issues to do with efficiency of equipment / troubleshooting
• Follow an escalation procedure to avoid major downtime
• Coaching Machine Minders, enabling them to solve problems
• Working closely as ONE TEAM with Production and Engineers
• Immediate “go, look, see” the issue by visiting the workstation when called upon
• Activity involved in maintenance excellence and asset care in conjunction with Engineers
• Actively seeks out improvement opportunities within the workplace and converts to own projects
• Owns and delivers maintenance task on assigned equipment
• Ability to deliver on the job training (show and tell) to new colleagues
• Effective shift change over with opposite Machine Setter ensuring line standards are adhered tIn addition, you must be prepared to undertake any reasonable requests made to meet the business needs of the company

Skills, know-how and experience required:

• Good standard of spoken & written English
• Solid level of numeracy
• Ability to influence and motivate and embed a continuous improvement culture
• Ability to confront issues, opportunities and others with logic with all levels of the business
• Methodically accomplishes tasks and goals
• IT skills – Excel/power point
• A high level of flexibility is required and ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
• Food safety level three
