Receptionist/Administrator
Part Time : Between 15 and 20 hrs per week
- Essential: must have previous EMIS and GP Practice experience
Salary : £10.50ph
Job Summary
We are looking to appoint an experienced Receptionists/Administrator to join our GP practice who will be the first point of contact for patients, contractors, and visitors as well as carrying out general office tasks. You will be responsible for the general administrative and reception duties within the Practice and work with our established processes, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service and deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries.
You will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate and friendly nature who can operate in a busy environment with a range of people and professions, as you will be working with our clinical and administration teams.
This role is ideal for someone who is experienced in working with the general public and highly organised and an effective communicator who can provide a professional and warm welcome to our patients, ensuring every contact is of the highest quality.
Job Responsibilities
RECEPTION DUTIES
· Register new patients and temporary residents
· Greet and direct patients and visitors
· Making appointments
· Handing out prescriptions
· Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift, as necessary
· Respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgery
· Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services
· Deal with general enquiries and complaints
TELEPHONE DUTIES
· Making appointments
· Taking requests for prescriptions
· Giving out results
· Ambulance transport bookings
· Home visit requests
· Deal with general enquiries and complaints
· Contacting other providers
· Ensure answering machine service for out-of-hours information is directed appropriately – switched to answer machine at close of business and back to Practice each morning.
GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
· Dealing with requests for repeat prescriptions
· Raising prescriptions as per Practice protocols
· Dealing with queries relating to repeat prescriptions
· General Input and extract information from Practice computer system
· Observe health and safety guidelines at all times
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
