We are looking for an experienced Receptionist to provide an efficient and reliable service to the very busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The successful post-holder will be trained to work in this frontline role within the Neonatal Department, where you will become part of well-established, dedicated and friendly team. This is a good opportunity to join an expanding and exciting Department.

Requirements:
- Work 2x 07.30am-20:00pm - rota of weekdays and weekend shifts and 1x 6h shift supporting the Pediatric reception teams.
- Good knowledge of PAS desirable (specific training will be given)
- Good standard of education
- Good working knowledge of computers
- Be flexible and hardworking with good communication skills
- Able to use own initiative and prioritise workload
- Team player

- Liaise with all Wards/Dept/Staff as and when required arranging tests and Transfers as required.
- To update and facilitate the Patient Administration System (PAS) and other IT systems (e.g. Business Objects) in line with the Trust’s policies and procedures on real time data collection and confidentiality, to record patient details for clinic appointments. Be able to access the National Health Authority system to identify changes in patient demographic details.
- To ensure that all patients’ records are available for appointment; amended and collated as necessary.
- Greet and direct all visitors e.g. patient’s relatives, GP’s and Reps to the appropriate member of staff/patient.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- To develop and promote skills in monitoring standards of service to the department.
- To arrange appointments and transport requirements when necessary.
- To liaise with other departments both internal and external on a daily basis.
