The role will require you to be able to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds, building rapport as you do so. You will need to be knowledgeable about the activities we offer and able to handle a diverse range of queries in a professional and efficient manner, promoting the centre and taking payment where necessary.

Receptionist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To be welcoming and promote the best possible image of LeisureSK by the level of service you provide at reception.
- To actively sell a wide range of activities and products from annual fitness memberships to a pair of swimming goggles.
- To collect and handle all sources of payment with integrity and in line with company procedures, taking responsibility throughout your shift and then cashing up at the end where any discrepancies will need to be investigated with the support of the Duty Manager.
- To deal with all written, social media, telephone and verbal queries politely and promptly, in a professional and efficient manner, in line with company procedures.
- To handle the centre’s telephone system, taking messages for other team members and ensuring these are passed on in a timely fashion.
- To ensure all information provided to the customers is up to date and relevant.
- To provide administrative support where necessary and ensure the booking system is up to date with correct information.
- To fully understand and enforce the centres admissions policy for the various different sessions.
- To ensure retail displays are fully stocked and appropriately merchandised.
- Ensure that equipment is ‘fit for purpose’ and any reports of defective equipment is dealt with immediately and inline with the company’s procedures.
- To be responsible for a small range of equipment for hire.
- To ensure visitors and contractors sign in and out of the centre.
- To accept incoming deliveries, or to call the appropriate team member where necessary.
- Maintain the general appearance of the reception area, including tidiness and presentation of the reception desk itself.
- To be fully acquainted with LeisureSK’s health and safety procedures, ensuring these are consistently observed during your shift and to attend training as required.
- To carry out other tasks appropriate to the position of receptionists, as requested by a member of the management team.
