Exeter College, Oxford
Full Time Oxford, England 28131 - 24715 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Exeter College is one of the oldest colleges within the University of Oxford, with two residential sites in central Oxford.

These are busy premises, which (in addition to being student residences) host many of the College’s meetings, as well as commercial conferences and summer schools, and private dinners and events. The College is therefore, a vibrant and exciting place to work, and the Lodge Receptionist team is key to providing a professional, customer-focused and welcoming service to all students, staff and visitors.

We are therefore seeking a Lodge Receptionist (Nights) to deliver this service. Typical duties will include: overseeing the safety and security of the site at night; acting as a first point of contact in emergencies; welcoming guests and dealing with enquiries (in-person and by phone); handling check-in/ check-out procedures (including issuing room keys); taking payments; and booking rooms on the Kinetics database.

This is a busy, customer-facing role, and it is therefore essential that you have excellent verbal communication skills, and a naturally friendly and helpful nature. You should also be hands-on in approach, with the ability to manage a varied workload under minimal supervision, and a willingness to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of the wider team. Experience in a busy, customer-facing role is essential, whilst experience of working night shifts in a similar residential environment would be an advantage but is not essential.

The salary will be within a range £24,715 - £28,131 per annum. In addition, we offer a range of benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, access to contributory pension scheme and discounted healthcare/ dental schemes, and season ticket loans for travel.

The post will work an average of 39 hours per week, according to a 4-week rotating shift pattern.

Further Particulars, including details of how to apply, are available by email ([email protected]), or on our website at https://www.exeter.ox.ac.uk/vacancies/lodge-receptionist-nights/

The closing date for receipt of applications is 12pm (noon) on Thursday 15 June 2023.
