Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for front of house matters, which will include greeting visitors, answering the telephone and dealing with general enquiries. They will also provide essential administrative assistance, including updating lesson monitor, ensuring all first aid incidents are recorded, managing lost property and receiving and sorting post. This is a busy role and the Receptionist will receive support from other members of staff.
Responsibilities
- Be first point of contact for students, staff and visitors.
- Answer incoming calls; provide appropriate information in a timely manner; provide visitor support to visitors; direct calls to appropriate individuals; take messages for visitors; route calls appropriately; answer questions about services and facilities; obtain visitor signatures for facility operations.
- Maintain reception area in an orderly fashion; cleanliness is a priority; maintain office equipment in good condition; report any maintenance issues to management; order office supplies when necessary.
- Perform other related receptionist duties as requested by management.
- To maintain all related first aid equipment, wheelchairs and the first aid room including ordering of supplies for the first aid provision
Knowledge, skills and experience
- GCSE or Equivalent at Grade 4 or above, including Maths and English
- Excellent IT skills, including experience of IT packages such as Microsoft Word, Power Point and Publisher.
- First Aid qualification – 3 days first aid at work or a willingness to undertake this qualification.
- Responsible, self-motivated and willing to be a role model to students and staff; reliable, trustworthy and discreet
- Ability to work well under pressure with good interpersonal skills is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude is required.
Remuneration:
£17,113 per annum (£20,461 FTE) -35 hours per week, 8am to 3:30, 39 weeks per year.
