We are pleased to be able to offer a position for an experienced Receptionist in our newly refurbished Bedford Hospital Phlebotomy Department.
We are looking for a person to join a well establish team to undertake Receptionist duties in Out-patients throughout the Trust as directed.
Band 2 Part time Receptionist required to work at Gilbert Hitchcock House.
Previous experience Preferred.
Monday, Thursday and Friday 08:00to 16:30.
The post holder will have day to day responsibility for the administration of the relevant Patient Information system and the Reception area. They will work as part of a team providing front line administration services to the department, welcome patients and visitors to the department, the booking of outpatient blood test appointments, answering the telephone to both internal and external callers and arrange patient transport as required. You will need to be physically fit and able to lift.
This is a busy area with a high throughput of work and staff are required to work efficiently as part of a team whilst maintaining courtesy, tact and diplomacy at all times.
Ensure that the Reception area is well maintained at all times.

The Key Responsibilities of the post are:
- To participate in routine Reception service,
- Working alone if required and prioritising work accordingly;
- To be aware of, and comply with, all Trust infection prevention and control policies, to include hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental and food hygiene.
- Undertake training for prevention and control of infection;
- To manage a large throughput of patients, treating each as an individual and to behave professionally at all times.
