The Waltham Forest Diabetes Team is looking to recruit an Admin / Receptionist to support a very busy team for 30 hours per week .

The role is for someone who is able to work on a very busy reception, with the ability to stay calm and be able to multi-task in a sometimes-challenging environment.

The post holder will be the first port of call for a number of patient , visiting the health centre to receive much needed nursing support .

The post holder will have previous experience of working in the provision of excellent customer care including the maintenance of records. Experience of working in an NHS environment is desirable.

You should have well-developed communication skills with a range of people and be able to provide an initial response to patients and other agencies queries, concerns and sign post/direct as appropriate

We ask that you can prioritise your workload, be a team player and be able to use your own initiative and meet deadlines.

The post is a permanent position.

First point of contact for patients, staff and contractors who access the building

Answer incoming calls within an accepted time frame

The post is based solely in Jane Atkinson centre

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177 per annum pro rata).
