About the role
The Data Analysis team are responsible for identifying and collating change intelligence data to maintain and update our databases. This will include changes to, buildings, names, addresses and feature attribution, as well as Public Rights of Way and road network features. Knowing where change has and hasn’t happened is key to our operational processes. The team also analyses third party data for ingestion into platforms so that our mapping products continue to meet our customer needs.
Ordnance Survey is continuing to deliver a new and complex range of data to public sector customers, and the successful candidate will also play a role in identifying, capturing and analysing data to fulfil these requirements. The Data Analysis team is increasingly required to evolve due to new customer demands. We want you to join us on our continuous drive for improvement.
To be the successful candidate you must demonstrate your track record against the following essential criteria and competencies in your application:
  • Receive, analyse and process data relating to known or potential changes to real world features;
  • Work with customers and stakeholders to understand and document requirements;
  • Support the capturing of data to time and specification;
  • Test third party data to ensure it is fit for purpose and meets business needs
What we’re looking for
  • Good attention to detail; able to consistently produce high quality work against an established set of rules and guidelines;
  • Ability to understand and interpret maps and mapping, knowledge of ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro. ArcGIS Online knowledge would be an advantage;
  • Planning, scheduling, and monitoring own workloads to effectively contribute to individual and team targets;
  • Good level of both verbal and written communication;
  • Proven track-record of prioritising tasks and delivering to deadlines;
  • Ability to collaborate and understand the needs of internal stakeholders

Location
We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be required to spend 1 day a week with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home, one of our regional offices or spend more time at OSHQ.
Security
OS conducts DBS background checks for all joiners and some of our roles require additional security clearance, including to SC or DV level in some cases. We will tell candidates at the appropriate time during the recruitment process if additional clearance will be required for this role.
