Job description

15 hours a week - Thursday and Friday 8am - 16.00pm

To provide high level clerical and administrative support, serving as the first point of contact for patients, members of the public and visitors to the Leicester Biomedical Research Centre- Cardiovascular Theme.

The successful candidate will work in the Transitional Medicine Facility (TMF) within the BRC CV, to ensure the effective scheduling of patients and staff using the facility, and the delivery of the highest standards of customer care. This post is a fixed term contract initially for 12 months.

  • To be the first friendly and courteous point of contact for all patients and visitors to the Unit.
  • To answer telephone calls in a timely and professional manner, directing enquires to the appropriate person/s as necessary.
  • To liaise with research teams and the BRC CV Manager regarding clinic room bookings in the Transitional Medicine Facility (TMF).
  • To use the online booking system for all BRC CV meeting rooms and clinical facilities, plus resolving any booking clashes.
  • To take responsibility for and prioritising own workload.

The appointee will work within a multidisciplinary team. They will have a close working relationship with the Research Nurses, the BRC CV Senior administrator and the BRC CV Manager.
