Receptionist/Administrator
Location: Dudley
Salary: £23,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Hours: Between 8.00 am – 6.00 pm, 4 days per week (35 hours per week)
Contract: Part-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (MAT cover)
The Black Country Living Museum is seeking an organised Receptionist/Administrator to join the Visitor Welcome Team. As a part of the Visitor Welcome team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our guests experience a professional welcome by providing a seamless service upon arrival. If you're a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills, we'd love to hear from you!
What will you be doing?
- Providing respectful and inclusive customer service in person, over the phone, and via email communications.
- Using digital systems for visitor transactions and cash handling.
- Checking building safety daily before visitors arrive.
- Managing and keeping records of incoming deliveries.
- Controlling access at entry gates, and verifying credentials.
- Handling incoming and outgoing mail efficiently.
- Assisting with various clerical tasks across departments.
- Manage lost property and communicate with visitors.
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Serving as a Learning Centre Fire Marshal (training provided).
- Perform other duties as needed.

- Positive and inclusive communication skills.
- Experience manning a business reception desk
- Demonstrable administrative experience.
- Confident IT and written skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
