About the Role
Walnut Tree Health Centre in Milton Keynes is recruiting for a receptionist to work 20 hours a week (Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 12.00 pm). Responsibilities will include:
- Greeting patients, routing patients through appointment system
- Booking appointments at desk and on telephone
- Dealing with telephone queries, requests for information, results and visits using the computer system and practice protocols appropriately
- Liaising with doctors and nurses regarding patient queries - passing on messages as required
- Following up requests for appointments, information from hospitals, booking transport or interpreters
About the Candidate
Essential:
- Good standard of communication, written and verbal - face to face and an excellent telephone manner
- Computer literate
- Caring, empathetic manner
- The ability to remain calm and courteous when working under pressure
- The ability to demonstrate respect for patient confidentiality at all times
Desirable:
- Knowledge of System One
- Experience of Primary Care
About Us
Walnut Tree Health Centre is a very friendly, busy GP Surgery based in Walnut Tree, Milton Keynes and serves a population of 13,500 patients with a mixed demographic. We are a training practice. We have a great relationship with our PCN and are committed to developing the services we can offer our patients. We value work life balance.
We are currently a team of 3 GP Partners and 2 salaried GPs. In addition to PCN roles we have our own very experienced multi-disciplinary team comprising:
- 2 x prescribing nurse practitioners
- Practice nursing team including chronic disease management, health screening and treatment room services
- Prescribing pharmacist
- A management and admin team providing comprehensive care and support
- Variety of trainees including F2, ST1/2&3 and student nurse
