bp pulse has established itself as the market leader in electric vehicle charging, providing solutions for EV drivers to charge at home, at work and on the road. We are the UK’s only fully integrated, end-to-end manufacturer and operator of charging infrastructure, and our nationwide Polar network of public charge points is recognised for its quality and reliability.
This is a field based role covering South London & South East.
bp has an accelerated EV and convenience growth strategy in Europe. It is anticipated that more than 70% of the growth footprint will be outside the existing retail forecourts. This requires us to rapidly access new sites at pace and scale across Europe to support the EV business growth plans over the next decade.
The role of the Acquisitions Manager is key to our growth strategy and focussed on developing new ‘on the go’ sites which will feature a convenience retail offer and rapid EV charging provision. The role is accountable for the end-to-end acquisition process, from site finding through to commercial negotiations and handover to Construction team.
Key Accountabilities
Site Search and Evaluation
- Leads the search for suitable plots, identifying, evaluating and recommending sites for development
- Conducts a thorough evaluation of site suitability, to include demand assessment, visibility, accessibility and development feasibility (planning, construction and health and safety)
Commercial Negotiation
- Leads external negotiations with landowners, developers and strategic partners
Works closely with the design, engineering and offer development teams to secure the best layout for the defined offer
- Drives negotiation of the best commercial terms for acquisition/lease across various ownership and development models
Development Management
- Working closely with external consultants and the construction team, drives the project to conclusion, managing risk and driving best outcomes for bp
Qualifications
- Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with post-qualification experience
- Demonstrated ability in the acquisition and development of real estate assets
- Experience in the roadside and/or retail property sectors
- Experience in negotiation of commercial real estate terms
- Experience in the development of large-scale infrastructure projects
- Experienced in economic evaluation and appraisal of development projects
Additional Information
This role will involve extensive travel across your allocated geographic area - South London & South East UK, together with some attendance to meetings in Milton Keynes and London as required.
