Our QSI-accredited Radiology Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals is looking for high motivated, enthusiastic Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographers to join its friendly team and support the development of the Radiology Department.

The Radiology Department boasts 11 general rooms with 3 in a busy and exciting ED unit; most of our rooms are DR. We also have Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Dentals, DXA and Cardiac Cath Lab (including PPCI). We have the new Norfolk Centre for Interventional Radiology Unit and our Cath Lab is undergoing expansion/refurbishment. There are 27 theatres in which we have a range of Image Intensifiers.

Cromer Hospital forms part of the Trust and is situated on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. The Cromer Radiology department has 2 general rooms supporting a busy MIU, GP’s and clinics together with a procedure room with its own image intensifier. Also on site at Cromer are Mammography, US, MRI and DXA.

Hours of work: full Time and part time hours are available. Shifts are a mixture of long and short days. You will be required to work flexibly - weekday / weekend and out of hour’s duties within the NNUH Trust including Cromer District Hospital. We operate a 7 day working week which includes rostering at nights, weekends and Bank Holidays. We offer flexible working opportunities as well.

  • Contribute to the organisation of the day to day working of the area by planning and prioritising own workload based on clinical priority; incorporating the training needs of other staff.
  • Communicate effectively with the Modality Team Lead, Consultant Radiologists, clinical staff and radiology assistant staff, regarding operational and clinical issues.
  • Perform imaging examinations either in person or as part of the team, maintaining high professional standards and supporting and monitoring the quality standards of the directorate.
  • To demonstrate skill in adapting technique to achieve high quality diagnostic imaging for patients whose condition would otherwise prevent this, without compromising care, this involves frequent dealing with patients who are in pain and distress, and claustrophobic patients.
  • Become and remain competent at image manipulation.
  • To provide a safe environment for both staff, patients and visitors, complying with current legislation relating to all aspects of health and safety, the relevant service safety regulations, reporting any untoward incidents and having involvement in risk assessments, and incident reporting.
