Overview:
PepsiCo is currently recruiting for R&D Process Engineering Technologist to join in Leicester, UK.

Job Purpose

You will work effectively with cross-functional & R&D partners to deliver the Process Development aspects of multiple innovation & PTBS projects across all West Europe Foods through leveraging technical process knowledge, applying business processes & creating innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Project Management - plan, organise, execute and communicate assigned projects or project components under guidance of line manager whilst maintaining a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Data driven product design - Demonstrated application of consumer & analytical data to ensure excellent product launches through creation of quality technical process specifications.
  • Build & maintain technical process knowledge of WE production process capabilities (both internal & external) to enable efficient innovation/productivity realisation by providing functional scale-up expertise and technical leadership on specific process development work streams
  • Develop robust predictive scale-up models on pilot/lab scale that accurately identify key process variables that define the desired product transformations and final quality, and validate through experimental trials at pilot and full production scale.
  • Contribute to workstreams to improve ways of working across the team e.g. improvement of business processes to drive greater efficiencies, sharing of knowledge to create better team cohesion & developing others through coaching & embedding best practise.
Qualifications:
Functional experience:
  • Graduate in a Chemical Engineering, Food Processing or Mechanical Engineering (with proven food bias)
  • Previous experience in FMCG environment (required) with experience of Food Safety standards (preferred)
  • Great technical & analytical skills, ability to interpret data and distil into useful and actionable information
  • Good communicator able to communicate effectively across multiple business functions (R&D, Operations, Marketing..)
  • Attention to detail demonstrated thoroughness and accuracy on technical documentation
  • Self starter, self motivated, demonstrates ability to work independently demonstrating perseverance to achieve goals
  • Ability to analyse complex problems to find actionable pragmatic solutions and constructive action plan
