Job description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team and manage the financial aspects of our rail projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction and be familiar with the rail industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost plans and estimates for rail projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies and provide advice on cost-effectiveness
  • Negotiate and agree on contracts with suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Prepare and maintain project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and kept within budget limits
  • Regularly monitor and report on project progress and cost status to stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate cost and value reports are produced on a timely basis
  • Ensure that all relevant financial, legal, and contractual requirements are met
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including monitoring and controlling their performance
  • Identify and resolve disputes and claims related to contracts and costs
  • Provide support to project managers in relation to project planning and cost control

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Knowledge and experience of working within the rail sector
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in using cost management software

Salary: £35,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
