NG Bailey Facilities & Infrastructure Services are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to support their projects division based from one of office locations, flexible on the location.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager for Facilities and Infrastructure Services, the Quantity Surveyor will be part of the Commercial Team providing support to the projects division.
Main activity is focused on supporting the Facilities and Infrastructure Business unit for projects ranging in value from approximately £100k - £1m. You will be supporting the Project Managers across the business for small M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) projects including building fabric.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Work alongside various Project Managers, carrying out Quantity Surveying function on small M & E projects, including building fabric.
- Provide guidance to operational staff and ensure governance is followed in respect to Terms and Conditions of various forms of contract including JCT, NEC and bespoke.
- Working with Finance to set up formal reporting for the projects.
- Support the procurement of the supply chain and take responsibility for the management of the on-going supply chain including raising Subcontract Agreements.
- Support the development of associated commercial process and procedures and the briefing of these to the operational team.
- Manage the monthly applications and ensure that the business is securing full entitlement.
- Raise Early Warning notices and Compensation Events as required.
- Manage Change Requests from the Client and compile re-pricing of the project as required.
- Compile Cost Value Reconciliation for each project.
- Supporting in bids and tenders.
- Conduct site visits for progress meetings and valuations.
You will have:
- BSc Quantity Surveying or Construction related degree
- Relevant quantity surveying or construction experience in a similar role, preference from a maintenance and service background
- Experience within a Facilities business, M&E Contractor/sub-contractor or Facilities Management contractor (Desirable)
- MRICS or similar Commercial Qualification (Desirable)
- IOSH Managing Safely (Desirable)
- CDM Awareness (Desirable)
