An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitable candidates to apply for a Senior 2 Radiographer (Band 6 equivalent) post within our department. The successful candidate will be involved as part of a team in the day to day running of the treatment machine and planning suite. The successful candidate will also be involved in the department’s continuous quality improvement, and contribute to the clinical implementation of new techniques together with the Head of Rdiotherapy Services and Qualioty, Manager, Lead Radiographers and Physics team.
As a Therapy Radiographer, you will:
See each patient as an individual, offering understanding and empathy
Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload – in the department, on the ward and in theatre
Work with leading practitioners and cutting-edge practices, equipment and facilities
Carry out scoping to develop policies and procedures
Supervise and develop junior colleagues

Based in Wimbledon, south-west London, Nuffield Health Cancer Centre London is at the forefront of innovative cancer care and a recognised Centre of Excellence. The Radiotherapy department at Cancer Centre London (CCL) is fully networked. Our equipment include an Elekta Versa HD linear accelerator with a hexapod couch and KV CBCT for IGRT. We have a dedicated Siemens wide bore 64 slice planning CT scanner with 4D gating and automatic dual contrast functionality. We have an Xstrahl superficial suite that is used to treat a range of malignant and benign superficial conditions. Our radiographers also deliver Photodynamic Therapy for a range of dermatological conditions.
We utilise a video-based surface imaging technology – AlignRT, to assist in daily patient treatment set-up. We routinely deliver VMAT, Stereotactic, ABC breath-hold treatment techniques to all suitable patients.
In our Planning suite, the physicists and radiographers work closely with our consultants to produce optimum treatment plans using Prosoma, Monaco and FocalSim virtual simulation software, image fusion (including CT/MRI) Monaco and XiO planning system.
The entire centre, including the Chemotherapy suite is also networked with Mosaiq OMS. We are accredited by CHKS. In 2015 we won the LaingBuisson ‘Innovation in Technology’ award for Heart Sparing Left breast radiotherapy. CCL’s recent CQC inspection had an overall rating of GOOD with outstanding for ‘Responsive’. In 2018 CCL won the CHKS highly commendable award for quality improvement
