Cardiff Airport is the national airport for Wales and an important part of the national transport infrastructure and key gateway to the UK for international visitors. The airport is a major contributor to the Welsh economy, supporting 2,400 aviation-related jobs and driving over £246m of direct economic benefit to the region annually.
There are 11 airlines currently making regular use of the airport’s facilities, which include KLM, TUI, Aer Lingus (Emerald), Ryanair, Vueling, Eastern and Loganair.
The airport is expected to offer over 29 direct routes in 2023, as well as easy, one-stop global connections to over 160 cities available with KLM via its hub in Amsterdam.
About the role
We are looking for a Quality, Safety, Health & Environment (QSHE) Officer to deliver of a comprehensive Health, Safety & Environmental service to Cardiff Airport & St Athan Airfield sites.
Working within the QSHE department and Environmental Sustainability & Planning team, the role will provide assistance with the day-to-day working of the department and will help plan, implement, monitor and review the protective and preventative measures that are required to minimise accidents and injuries and whilst ensuring the Airport’s exposure to Health, Safety & Environmental risks.
The role will also take responsibility for the recycling management provision covering legal compliance and championing the Airports recycling programme and will provide support to the Director of Environmental Sustainability & Planning as required include preparation of surveys, obtaining competitive tenders, managing budgets and working with colleagues to ensure the satisfactory completion of each project.
