Continuing education is currently one of the most exciting, prominent, and fastest moving fields in UK-based and global higher education. The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) is an established leader in the field, tracing its roots back to 1873.
The Institute of Continuing Education delivers high quality and distinctive educational programmes for adult learners, predominantly studying on a part-time basis, for either personal enrichment or professional development. For many students ICE acts as an initial gateway to higher education and onwards progression to further study. ICE aims to ensure that the expertise and resources of the University of Cambridge are made available to all students, irrespective of their previous educational achievements.
To support our growth plans and the delivery of our 2021-25 strategy, we seek to appoint an Events Coordinator who shares our commitment to supporting adults to learn at every stage of their life.
The Events Coordinator will be responsible for the Institute's events strategy as well as the operational design and delivery of all the Institute's events (in-person, online or hybrid). The Events Coordinator reports to the Marketing Manager and will have line management responsibility for an Events Apprentice.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in event management (planning and implementation) and project management. They would be accustomed to working collaboratively across functions and would possess strong organisational and communication skills. The successful candidate will be commercially orientated and accustomed to working to targets and deadlines.
Please note that this role is currently available on a hybrid basis with the flexibility to work remotely and in our offices in Madingley, Cambridge. The role is full-time, with the possibility of working to 5 out of 7-day shift-pattern.
