An exciting opportunity has become available within the integrated Alder Hey and Liverpool Heart and Chest iDigital Service for a Data Quality Lead. The role will oversee the Data Quality function at both organisations.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Quality Lead to actively manage the Data Quality programme of work across Liverpool Heart and Chest and Alder Hey Hospitals to achieve the standard of completeness and accuracy of patient related data required to support clinical and business processes and statutory information returns.
With state of the art offices at Liverpool Innovation Park the team operate Agile working, providing you the flexibility to work from home and flexible working times. To actively manage a programme of work in the Trust to achieve the standard of completeness and accuracy of patient related data required to support clinical and business processes and statutory information returns.
To review current information systems ensuring the quality of data that meets both national and local standards and regulations.
Provide assurance and support to Senior Managers within the Trust on all matters relating to information and data quality assurance.

Liverpool Heart and Chest have recently become part of the Digital Aspirant scheme, which helps NHS Trusts raise their Digital Maturity. The Trust has also recently commissions the Digital Excellence Strategy, a 5-year programme to deliver digital initiatives enabling a wide range of benefits. The 3 core themes that underpin the strategy are ‘Connecting Digitally with our Patients and Families’, ‘Digital Safety and Outstanding Care’ and ‘Insight Led Care’, all underpinned by a ‘back to basics’ service improvement plan.
Alder Hey has been officially accredited as a HIMSS Stage 7 hospital and is now working through a strategy refresh. Alongside this the Trust are upgrading their Electronic Patient Record (Meditech) to the latest version available, maximising our investment in core clinical systems to ensure our staff have the best tools available when providing patient care.

The post holder will develop and oversee the management of the data quality framework, ensuring delivery of the Trusts statutory data quality targets and objectives across all systems which hold patient data used for that purpose. This will be enabled by:
- Development of a strategy which sets the overarching agenda and direction for data quality including core principles, information standards and key relationships with all aspects of Trust governance.
- Developing and maintaining data quality key performance indicators to be used to inform the Trust Board on alignment of data quality standards with the Strategy and to act where appropriate.
- Ensuring System Owners are empowered to maintain their own effective controls on data quality through effective working partnerships and informative reporting.
- Working with information governance and divisional leads to ensure any information quality issues are identified and efficiently triangulated within the appropriate Specialty.
- Design and implementation of audits to monitor quality
- Develop and maintain an information data quality awareness and culture across the Trust, communicating the impact of data quality and individual responsibilities through both policy and education.
- Communicate the results of system audits and other monitoring information across organisational boundaries to a variety of staff, including senior executives.
- Pro-actively seek data quality opportunities and best practices from other organisations providing benchmarking data where possible for use in service delivery and performance monitoring.
