Family run health food company producing functional ingredients and snacks for the retail and foodservice sector. We specialise in value added Salad Toppers, Sprouted Seeds, Breakfast Boosts and children and adult plant based snacks.
Job Summary / Purpose:
The Quality Manager will have overall responsibility for the day to day running of the site. This will include all technical aspects of factory production and its environment, ensuring that all products meet customer and legal requirements. They will also manage the Quality management system ensuring that all documents are in place up to date and complying with relevant standards, i.e., BRC. They will be responsible for a team of production operatives and supervisors, generating production schedules, managing stocks, and reporting on KPI’s.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively review and challenge all standards and procedures across the business to promote strict adherence and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage and Update Quality Management System
- Review and Approval of BRC Documentation
- Preparation for BRC and customer audits
- Management of Quality objectives
- Ensure all products produced comply with specification.
- Management of all quality elements regarding Investigations, Corrective Actions, Complaints, Traceability and Recall systems
- Co-ordinate mock recall and traceability exercises
- Lead and co-ordinate the companies HACCP team
- Perform Internal Audits
- Management of all suppliers and service suppliers including monitor current suppliers and approval of new suppliers.
- Evaluation and recording of all incoming ingredients and materials
- Ensure employees are following hygiene and production procedures
- Ensure traceability of all raw materials, packaging, and products
- Maintenance of inspection, calibration, and test equipment
- Prepare samples for external microbiological analysis
- Trending of all microbiological results
- Identification of training needs and training against such needs
- Establishing and reporting on GMP and KPI’S reports
- To work as part of the Management Team to support the production plan, documentation review and facility inspection
- Management of staff and dealing with HR issues directly related to Good4U staff
- Reporting to Managing Director on production planning and scheduling
- Reporting to Financial Director on sales, orders and planning/production scheduling, raw material and non-food material procurement and effective stock management
- Ensuring agreed production targets are met
- Maintenance of production equipment and PM schedule
- Liaising with transport and customer depots
Personnel Specification & Experience:
- 3rd Level Education (Preferably 3rd level qualification in Food Science or related Food Discipline)
- 3 years’ experience in a technical/production role.
- 1 year or more experience in a Food Manufacturing Management role
- Strong technical background and Knowledge of Quality management systems i.e BRC, HACCP, Food Legislation and Food Hygiene.
- Ability to work well on own initiative and equally as an effective member.
- Ability to effectively lead, motivate and manage a team.
- Highly reliable.
- Good planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
