Quality Inspector wanted!

My client is a precision engineering company that specialises in complex prismatic parts for transmission and drive trains for aerospace, motor sport and advanced technologies sectors. They are an ever growing company who are going from strength to strength and have earned a reputation as a trusted and reliable partner.

(Quality Inspector) – Position Overview

· Inspect and validate of customer parts

· Conversant in first principles and inspection methods

· Proficient with inspection equipment and tools including CMM, Wenzel gear checking and Zeiss-con trace and Tessa.

· Support quality manager in his daily activities

· Take part in audits of department in line with audit processes

· Assist and implement CL and Lean activities within the quality inspection department

· Complete ISIR, First and Final inspection and fairs.

· Communicate with customers by phone and email

· Assist to maintain calibration systems

· Assist head of quality department to implement SOP for daily shop floor patrol, checking any high risk and STD parts and processes.

· Dealing with supplier and supplier rejects

· Use of an implementation of Quality Control software – HighQa or Fit Factory QC

(Quality Inspector) – Position Requirements

· Minimum of 3 years as a Quality Inspector or equivalent experience

· Gear and transmission knowledge an advantage but not critical as training can be given

· Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and manage in a fast-paced environment

· Familiarity with inspection methods, co-ordinate measuring machines and test equipment and knowledge of special processes

· Working knowledge of applicable manufacturing and quality requirements including ISO 9001, AS 9100.

· Proficient in the use of personal computers, blueprint reading, geometric tolerances and application of SPC to the manufacturing process.

· Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and some understand of aerospace requirements.

(Quality Inspector) – Position Remuneration

· Monday – Friday 08:00am – 16:30pm or 06:am – 14:15pm

· Hourly rate £15.50 - £18.50 per hour, subject to qualifications and experience

· 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays

· Company Pension

· Overtime available, Time and Third (weekdays) and Time and Half (weekends
