kff is a regional food wholesaler with c.270 colleagues based near Maidstone, Kent. We are part of Sysco, the world’s largest foodservice provider with over 65,000 colleagues globally. kff has a family feel with a close-knit team, supplying all sectors of the independent foodservice market.
We currently have an immediate vacancy for an Area Sales Manager to join our friendly Sales Team.
The role is primarily focused on ensuring that we maintain great quality to our customers which will include liaising and monitoring customer complaints to ensure that all actions are customer focused. Quality Inspectors are responsible for the quality of fresh product to specification.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
o Document the quality of product delivered and during storage
o Reject product that fails to meet specifications and standards
o Work as part of the Quality/Technical team in ensuring high standards are met with a view to continual improvement
o Check rejected produce are isolated for return
o Ensure that systems and procedures are adhered to
o Respond to daily delivery issues regarding quality.
o Cover other Quality areas where necessary
o Responding to customer complaints and ensuring the monitoring of the suppliers and product causing complaints
o To work in a team based environment where all managers/employees work together for the good of the business
o Through the department provide ongoing intelligence/data/information that can be used by other departments in order to make more informed decisions
o Ensure that all applicable legislation (H&S, Hygiene, BRC, etc) for a modern food business are in place and adhered to by all and that any violations are reported to your business.
o Specific projects or activities as directed by either your line manager.
o Ensure produce and other product categories accepted into the business and stored within the business is deemed 'Fit For Purpose' and is within specification
Competency profile required/Person specification:
- Customer focused and solutions driven
- Basic health and hygiene certificate
- Product knowledge of fruit and vegetables an advantage
- I.T skills
- Competent in both written and oral communication
- Team player who can work independently if necessary
