About this opportunity
We're looking for somebody who is passionate about the future of quality engineering to join our QE Chapter in Transforming Finance.
As an Automation Engineer, you’ll be based in Bristol, supporting the End to End Engineering team in the Finance Platform. You'll be responsible for delivering and maintaining the highest quality customer driven software and will define and implement our Automation First approach whilst continually challenging, motivating and supporting colleagues in the quality engineering team.
What would you get involved with?
- You would be involved in maintaining the automation strategy and automation framework that others use
- Training and best practice for others in the programme.
- Working alongside our DevOps and other Quality Engineers, we need you to be assuring we are keeping to our automation first strategy, ensuring that we can reap the benefits of Test Automation throughout the SDLC.

What you’ll need
- We like people who come from a variety of industry backgrounds are encouraged having a team with varied strengths. For the role as a minimum, we would need to see the following:
- Quality Engineering/Quality Assurance background, with a proven ability in Test Automation
- Experience in maintaining automation frameworks, with an eye to the future to ensure they are kept up to date and relevant
- Highly competent in Java or other object orientated language
- Highly competent in Selenium.
- Experience in the Software Development Lifecycle and development practise e.g. GHE, Jenkins etc
And any experience of these would be really useful
- Understanding of the Finance applications and practices (Oracle, SAP etc) would be desirable but not essential.
