POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for driving continuous Improvement and best practice within our NPI process, Manufacturing cells and Supply Chain. The role will involve working with all stakeholders both internal and external to maximise efficiency ensuring a cost down and high quality approach.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- To work closely with the Machine Shop Operatives and to have a good understanding of CNC Machine Tools, Manual Machine Tools, all aspects of Grinding and all associated Processes.
- A hands on approach is required for this role with a minimum of 5 years experience in a Machine Shop Environment.
- Provide technical support for our production teams to ensure product quality and operational efficiency are maintained.
- To be able to identify new machine tools for justification and be able to fully implement new assets and processes, training operatives as required.
- To work closely with engineering functions ensuring products are designed for manufacture/assembly and to drive best practice during production implementation. Introduce standard operating procedures for all aspect of production and ensure process capability whist driving quality throughout
- Lead projects using Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve new and existing products, reducing costs, improving the process and quality to agreed time scales and within budget
- Lead continuous improvement activities utilising the latest lean techniques to drive process improvement and operational objectives
