JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer
SALARY: £66,861 - £74,290
LOCATION(S): Bristol
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites
About this opportunity:
As an experienced Quality Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving automation adoption and support our migration to Google Cloud. You will be responsible for ensuring that we deliver and maintain the highest quality customer driven software and will define and implement an Automation First approach.
Your role will be to help define and implement the automation testing strategy across our Insurance Finance and Specialist Services labs. Working in a project delivery space, you will take the lead on defining innovative approaches to testing, as well as providing technical mentoring and guidance to other Engineers in the team. Your focus will be on contributing to the development of automated Functional Integration tests and end-to-end tests that includes leveraging shift-left methods.

What you’ll need:
We like people who come from a variety of backgrounds, leading to a diverse team. To be considered for this role, as a minimum, we would need to see the following in this rough order of priority:
- A passion to lead quality engineering and automation.
- Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering background with a deep knowledge of Test Lifecycle, Test Models, Best Practices, Test Benchmarking and Test Tools.
- Automation understanding including experience with tools such as Jenkins, Cucumber, Urban Code Deploy and Spinnaker or similar.
- Experience of providing technical mentorship and training to junior testers inside the team.
- Experience of both functional and non-functional testing
- Experience of Java, Scala or Python languages
