We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the overall quality and reliability of our manufacturing processes and products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, production personnel, and quality assurance professionals, to drive continuous improvement and meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive analysis of manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement to optimize quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection procedures, and testing methodologies to ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide input on product designs, ensuring manufacturability, reliability, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform statistical analysis and utilize quality tools to monitor process performance, identify trends, and proactively address potential deviations.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams for process validation, including IQ/OQ/PQ activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, work instructions, inspection procedures, and other relevant documents.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of production processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain effective quality control measures for purchased components and materials.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to injection molding and plastic manufacturing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in quality engineering or a similar role within the plastic injection molding industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools, such as statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Strong understanding of plastic materials, manufacturing processes, and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in utilizing quality management systems and tools, such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing.
  • Experience with conducting process validations and familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, facilitate problem-solving sessions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on ensuring accuracy and precision in all quality-related activities.
