Job description
EFJohnson Technologies is a subsidiary of JVCKENWOOD Corporation, a leading provider of P25 communications solutions for first responders in public safety and public service, the federal government, and industrial organizations. Our products are marketed under the EFJohnson and KENWOOD brands.
EFJohnson provides wireless communications products and systems for public safety, and commercial, and government customers. We design, manufacture, and market conventional and trunked radio systems, land mobile radio repeaters, and mobile and portable radios, including Project 25 digital radio products.
Supplier Quality Engineer
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be dedicated to ensuring that products and supplies from EFJohnson vendors and suppliers are of high quality, free of damages and defects, and follow government, company, and manufacturing standards. The SQE will develop relationships with suppliers and act as a liaison between suppliers and EFJohnson, creating reports and databases of provider information to help ensure EFJohnson works with the highest-quality vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Contact vendors and liaise between product engineers, manufacturing personnel, and suppliers to negotiate contracts to secure required materials.
- Conduct supplier quality control guidelines/protocols and audits regularly to ensure vendors and their suppliers comply with company and federal manufacturing and production standards.
- Provide internal and supplier support for root cause and corrective/ preventive actions tied to Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
- Assess products and supplies from vendors to ensure quality.
- Communicate with vendors regularly to address concerns and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement in working relationships.
- Maintain a supplier database and include performance evaluations and quality control audits.
- Assist with logistics, including communications with vendors when there are packaging and receiving issues when materials arrive at the receiving dock.
- Research and find the best vendors to supply the materials needed for the manufacturing process.
- Training new employees, suppliers, and vendors on quality assurance procedures and protocols.
- Assist other department staff as needed.
- Work well with minimal supervision.
- Agrees to abide by the established Approval Matrix
- Complete special projects as requested.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong Technical skills.
- Highly developed attention to detail.
- Dynamic problem-solving skills.
- Refined organizational skills
- Familiarity with radio communication products preferred.
- Knowledge of general office equipment and administrative functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Knowledge of the Glovia System is desired.
- Minimum of two years experience in customer service.
