Job description
- Address product quality during all stages of production including: incoming inspection, production, and final acceptance test stage, and take appropriate measures if and when issues arise
- Collaborate with Product Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers and the Operations Team to ensure that quality standards are met
- Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products and production equipment
- Ensure processes implemented adhere to quality requirements
- Work alongside our Supply Quality Engineers when external corrective actions for quality need to be addressed
- Provide an effective interface with customers to ensure consistent quality service and ensure that product returns and non-conforming product are appropriately managed
- Identify, lead and report on improvement opportunities as determined through trends and data analysis
- Provide management of the MRB process to ensure effective root cause/corrective action and prompt and accurate disposition for out of spec material
- Lead the introduction of ECOs and other process changes on the manufacturing floor to ensure appropriate implementation and inventory disposition
- Provide internal process audits and help manage and improve our Quality Management System as needed
- Participate in cost reduction and yield improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
- At least 10 years of previous relative work experience in a manufacturing or supplier quality function in an ISO 9001 environment
- Experience manufacturing a wide range of components including precision machined parts, castings, injection molded plastic parts and PCBAs
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and convert them into the quality control plans
- Ability to understand and implement Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
- Experience understanding product issues and how to adequately get them resolved
- Excellent reporting, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Experience with creating and approving change orders associated with product, procedures and BOMs.
- Experience with reliability methods.
