Quality Assurance - Technical Department

Salary: Starting on £25,272 going to £26,535/ann when fully trained

Hours: Monday to Friday 45 hours per week

Role Definition:

ABP is one of Europe’s largest food processors and our site in Yetminster produces best quality lamb products including the premium Dorset Crown range. The role of Quality Assurance is to ensure that all necessary Quality and HACCP checks are carried out to meet Food Safety, Quality and Legal requirements

Main Duties:

This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to develop and progress to a management role as the skills you will learn will enable you to move up the career ladder to a role in Technical Management with opportunities not just at site level but also within the ABP Group.

The successful candidate would be monitoring the quality and specification of our premium quality lamb products before packing. You will be working at part of a team to support production in the ensure that the required food safety standards by carrying out checks like temperature and metal detection. The role will involve recording data accurately and reporting non-conformances to the Technical Management as well as any food safety and quality issues. You will play an active role during our customer audits.

Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a background within a busy production environment. The candidate will enjoy challenging, problem-solving roles and be ideally suited to a fast-paced environment. The candidate should have good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Desirable you have Food Safety level 2 and HACCP Level 2 – if not training will be given
  • Internal auditing experience and familiar with writing specifications

In addition:

· Intermediate IT skills

· Excellent communication skills

· Attention to detail

· Team Player

· Able to work to deadlines

· Desirable you have working knowledge within the meat industry and an understanding of animal welfare

Please note you will be working in a temperature-controlled environment which in some areas is:

-1/+2 degrees.
