Overview:
ROLE SUMMARY

Implement the safety management policies and procedures locally so that all employees have a safe and healthy working environment and Swissport complies with all current and future regulations and laws.
Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities are associated with the QHSE Support Advisors job role:

  • Ensure implementation of safety management standards within the station.
  • Establish and lead Station Monthly Safety Management Meetings and monthly Station Employee Health & Safety Committee Meetings.
  • Report to the QHSE Regional Support Manager (Region).
  • Deliver regular safety performance reports to the Station Management.
  • Ensure all hazards, incidents are being reported and recorded accurately.
  • Initiate, lead and carry out investigations on occurrences in line with corporate standards.
  • Plan, prepare and conduct internal safety audits in conjunction with the QHSE Regional Audit and Compliance Manager at given intervals at the station and initiate / monitor corrective actions based on audit findings and occurrence investigations.
  • Establish and maintain the station operational risk register.

  • experience and knowledge of aviation ground handling and/ or cargo operational experience is desirable not essential.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES

  • A sense of passion for improving QHSE standards and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Good oral and written communications and ability to communicate and motivate and drive standards at all levels
  • Ability to persuade, gain support, obtain commitment, and mobilize a team to action
  • Operational and general compliance orientation
  • A relevant recognised health and safety qualification (NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent required) or must be able to demonstrate working towards.
  • Member of IOSH is desirable.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene, ideally possessing CIEH qualification or equivalent desirable, not essential.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in safety management and/or management system
  • Basic knowledge of country specific laws and industry regulations related to safety and safety management
  • Basic use and knowledge of MS Office
  • Personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness
  • Commitment to continued professional development
