You will be part of a team who provide on-site support for adults with complex mental health needs at our Bramford Place and Gippeswyk Avenue sites in Ipswich. We support people to identify and use their strengths to help manage the things in life they find difficult and thereby promote recovery and independence. We are looking for enthusiastic and creative people who enjoy a making a difference to come and join us.
What does it involve?
You will be working alongside people living at our supported housing service, proactively helping them to gain the confidence, skills and motivation they need to move on into the community. You will recognise that even in the most difficult of situations, people are often relying on a range of strengths and skills to cope and survive. You will use your ability to connect with people and develop their trust to help them to overcome barriers and achieve their goals.

Do I have to have experience?
Most importantly we are looking for people with a positive, person-centred approach to helping others and a desire to make a real difference. You will value individuality and take a non-judgemental and anti-authoritarian approach to providing support. You may have previous experience of supporting others, either in a professional or personal capacity, or you may have experience of overcoming challenges in your own life. Whatever your background, full training and support will be provided to ensure you have the knowledge and skills required to fulfil the role.
Tell me a bit more about the job?
We are a 24-hour supported housing service, with a 10-week rolling rota, which cannot be adjusted due to personal preferences or circumstances. The rota includes day shifts and sleep ins. Sleep ins are paid in addition to the salary at a rate of £80.19 per night. The service is based across 2 sites.
You will be working within a friendly and knowledgeable team of professional staff.
You will work alongside our teams Recovery Co-ordinators to have and understanding of tasks for the people you will be working with. You will receive a comprehensive induction when you join us as well as training through our annual cycle.
We are currently recruiting for;
1 x 30 hours per week permanent position.
