Crucible Gaming is a 20-strong casino game studio run by some of the most experienced people in the online gaming industry. We design and develop casino games for household-name brands such as SkyBet, Ladbrokes, William Hill among many others. We are expanding our QA team to cope with an increase in demand for our products.
We are looking for a QA tester to help increase our QA capacity and continue to deliver high quality games to our customers. Given the hands-on nature of this role, we would prefer you working from our central Sheffield office.
What is the role?
- Working with the development team, you will be conducting functional, system, end to end, smoke, regression, and ad-hoc testing.
- Analyze requirements and write test cases.
- Payout testing, game client, base game, features, jackpot testing, account history, admin/reports etc.
- Submit and track comprehensive defects using our bug tracking system.
- Assisting the team to ensure bugs are triaged and resolved in good time.
- Managing/retesting post-launch fixes to games.
- Provide work estimates.
- Ability to escalate issues when need be.
- Participate in peer reviews.
- As a highly regulated business, we work inside strict rules to ensure our games meet or exceed legal requirements. Your work will be fundamental in maintaining our compliance with those rules.
What skills and experience do I need?
- The ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
- Some knowledge of casino games, especially online slots would be very useful.
- Experience in unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing, regression testing, web service testing, and browser compatibility testing.
- Knowledge and experience of the software development lifecycle very beneficia.
- Good written English is important; to correctly log and detail bugs so they can be easily reproduced.
- Good numeracy skills are very beneficial for payout testing.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills – you will be using it all day every day!
- Knowledge of testrail or similar testing tools.
- Knowledge of Jira or similar bug tracking tools.
- Understanding of programming concepts and best practices.
- Experience Windows OS.
- Experience with testing web applications.
- Experience at troubleshooting and diagnosing system issues.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to stay focused on the task at hand, ensuring that timelines are met and operations are not adversely impacted.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Strong work ethic to get the job done.
What else might be handy?
- A background in software product development & delivery is very beneficial.
- A passport – when restrictions allow, you may be travelling with the team to meet clients and attend events in Europe and the US.
