KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The purpose of this position is to ensure that quality standards in Assembly Operations relating to Manufacturing and Vendor parts are maintained. Calibration, receiving inspection, MRB and measurement of parts also form part of the day-to-day responsibilities. This includes setup and programming of measuring equipment by the auditors. Activities will also include investigation of quality problems in daily production and proactively working to resolve these issues. Process audits also form part of the day-to-day activities.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Calibration of torque tools, measuring equipment and gauges
  • Managing tool breakdowns
  • Supporting the Quality Department’s goal of continuous improvement
  • Completing audits including Hydraulic cleanliness, Paint, process and product
  • Completing daily, weekly and monthly fault reporting
  • Liaising with all departments and all levels within the plant and external vendors/suppliers when Quality issues arise
  • Coordinating containment of non-conforming parts ensuring continuity of supply of good parts to production
  • Participation in Yellow Belt teams
  • Applying problem solving techniques to daily fault investigations
  • Supporting weekly TDQ activities and presenting findings to wider HYG team
  • Participating in stop ship process.
  • Attending daily Value Stream meetings as the main QA representative and collecting data from the meetings
  • Producing daily fault reports for various teams
  • Attending MRB when required.
  • Attending meetings including weekly Quality Review meeting
  • Becoming proficient on SAP MRB, QN process ensuring inventory integrity is maintained and up to date
  • Resolving quality issues while ensuring minimum disruption to Manufacturing, Assembly and the maintenance of product quality
  • Carrying out inspections which can include hardness tests, paint inspection, non-destructive weld tests and crack detection
  • Completing Process audits
  • Carrying out receiving inspection where specified, ensuring quality of purchased parts arriving to the plant and taking appropriate corrective action where necessary
  • Raising ICAMS for External Quality Issues
  • Providing support to the Pre-Delivery Inspection team as required

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Candidates should clearly demonstrate how they meet the following Essential Criteria:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Quality department
  • Or alternatively, have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Manufacturing/Assembly department
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Candidates must be available to work a 2 shift pattern (Early Shift 06:30-14:30, Late Shift Mon – Thurs 15:00 – 00:00, Fri 15:00 – 18:30)

The ideal candidate will also meet the following Desirable Criteria:

  • Ability to communicate and liaise at all levels
  • The ability to work on own initiative and work effectively within a team.
  • Competent in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word plus general computer skills
