Curtiss-Wright's Sensors and Controls business unit are looking for a Sr Quality Engineer to join us at our site in Christchurch, UK. Here, we design and manufacture flight critical parts for Commercial and Military aircraft and this is your chance to join us as we grow.
The Opportunity | QA Engineer, Sr
You will design, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Responsible for planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution. Perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary. Assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications, standards and provide product assurance documentation as required by customer programs.
Your Challenge:
- Develops, applies and revises quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
- Reviews and evaluates in-process rejections, obtains disposition and implements corrective action as needed.
- Interface with customers, vendors and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information.
- Participates in audits.
- Provides technical support to inspection personnel as needed.
- May prepare and provide product assurance documentation as required by customer programs.
Your Expertise:
- Degree (or equivalent) either Engineering or Quality standard
- Good amount of prior experience in similar role in an Aerospace and/or Defense industry ideally but experience in other regulated industries would be considered
- Must be familiar with AS9100 Rev. D.
- Understanding of EASA part 145 and part 21G a plus
- Training in Lean Sigma tools, PPAP, FMEA etc a plus.
