COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE

Our client is a world class, award winning, long established and growing manufacturing business, with strong and sustained investment in people, capital and plant. Due to continued growth, they are recruiting an experienced Procurement Specialist. The successful candidate will support the team in delivering key manufacturing related procurement targets by ensuring on-time delivery of Services, components, and consumables. This role attracts a good degree of autonomy and the incumbent will have the authority to source, and negotiate price on products and services as necessary.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • · Effectively using and maintaining SAP data, verifying quantity of imports, and providing accurate forecasting to suppliers and supporting continuous improvements.
  • · Support supply chain team to achieve procurement’s strategic objectives/commercial targets
  • · Effectively manage deliveries to ensure on-time delivery
  • · Monitoring and maintaining stock levels
  • · Utilising data and business tools to reduce waste, achieve KPI’s
  • · Actively contribute to processes improvements and quality systems
  • · Liaising with customs and warehousing colleagues to ensure smooth passage of information and components
  • · Creating, maintaining and building external supplier relationships and key internal relationships

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

ESSENTIAL

  • Experience gained within a similar role.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability, with the ability to make data driven decisions
  • Demonstrable ability to create, maintain and build supplier relationships
  • Demonstrable ability in the use of MS Office with strong excel skills
  • Driven starter finisher, and effective communicator with the ability to work independently and to demonstrate initiative

NICE TO HAVE / NOT ESSENTIAL

  • Membership of CIPS and/or IOSCM would be useful, but isn’t essential
  • Experience / Knowledge of SAP / ERP
  • Ability to negotiate prices and terms
  • Experience gained within a Manufacturing / Engineering or similar environment

DETAILS OF PACKAGE

To £35,000 PA (Negotiable depending on experience) Dayshift role: 37 Hour week (1pm finish on Fridays) with flexi-time option (around core hours) Other benefits include Competitive holiday entitlement, Competitive defined benefits contributory pension scheme, and Health insurance

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
