Are you a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for procurement? Little River Boatworld Inc., a fully integrated marine business and boat dealership located on the picturesque Shuswap Lake, BC, is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team.
About Us: Little River Boatworld Inc. is a fully integrated marine business and boat dealership dedicated to providing exceptional boating experiences. Located on the beautiful Shuswap Lake, BC, we are proud to offer a wide selection of both new and pre-owned boats for sale. In addition, we provide top-notch maintenance services to ensure our customers’ boats remain in optimal condition.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement company procurement strategies, policies, and procedures;
- Analyze market conditions and trends to identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts for the purchase of goods and services;
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products;
- Oversee the procurement process, including supplier selection, evaluation, and performance management;
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained;
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and provide procurement support;
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies;
- Supervise and train purchasing staff, providing guidance and support as needed;
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
- More than 3 years of direct related senior work experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with a focus on strategic sourcing and vendor management;
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and techniques;
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders;
- Proficiency in using procurement software and systems;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail;
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to effectively manage a team;
Compensation: We offer $82,000 starting salary and subject to further increase.
Work Conditions: On-site, and occasional hybrid option available. Monday to Friday, minimum 35 hours per week.
