Purchasing Manager – Mallusk – Competitive Salary
Montracon is one of the leading trailer manufacturers serving the UK, Ireland and export markets and offers a high quality, diverse product portfolio.
We are now looking for a Purchasing Manager to join an established team in Mallusk.
Key Responsibilities of a Purchasing Manager:
- Report directly to the Factory Manager
- Sourcing materials from local and global suppliers
- Building strong relationships with new and existing suppliers, securing supply contracts to achieve best commercial terms and contracts
- Purchasing consumables, production parts, supplies, and equipment
- Expedite open orders from suppliers
- Develop strong working relationships with Engineering, Production, Planning, Sales & Finance departments
- Monitoring ongoing spend against annual budgets and reporting to management team
- Lead the purchasing team through prioritisation of tasks and planning orders of raw materials and parts to meet production schedule
- Train new team members on the expected standards and procedures in purchasing
- Overseeing order book and on-time delivery
- Managing inventory levels and stores
- Liaising with transport companies for global shipping
- Updating and maintaining purchasing scorecards and reports
- Review of invoices to ensure accuracy.
Ideal Candidate:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a procurement/buying role within a fast paced, Fabrication/manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation skills.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines
- Must be highly proficient in all Microsoft Office packages
- Must have good knowledge of MRP systems
- Understand of LEAN and 5S would be an advantage
