Established in the early 1960s, Boningale Nurseries has grown to become one of the leading suppliers to the British landscaping industry. From our 40-acre container site in Shropshire, we produce and contract-grow a huge variety of plants, shrubs and trees, which is supplemented with specialised stock from our trusted network of UK and European-based suppliers.

We have a vacancy for a Purchase Ledger & Payroll Clerk to join our friendly finance department at our Albrighton Nursery.

Reporting to the Managing Director the successful candidate will take responsibility for the Purchase Ledger and Payroll function.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Daily checks on bank statements and management of the Company credit cards via portal
  • Liaise with utilities such as gas, water and electric and provide meter readings
  • Process monthly expenses claims
  • Post vendor and nominal bank payments
  • Prepare bank payments – sterling and euro
  • Maintain purchase ledger including queries, contras, supplier statements and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly payroll & RTI reporting submissions
  • Submit monthly CIS nil return (6 monthly)
  • Process all foreign currency purchase invoices
  • Submit intrastate returns for foreign currency invoices
  • Process UK & EU purchase invoices
  • Process new vendor creation/account applications
  • Petty cash administration
  • Transactional support for sales ledger function
  • Other ad Hoc duties as and when required

Attributes Required:

  • Familiar with ERP Systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics
  • Methodical approach, with an exceptional eye for detail
  • Ability to work on their own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to build strong relationships
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • An efficient working style
  • Previous Bookkeeping experience
  • Experience of Sage 50 required
  • Good IT skills particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Ideally ICB/IAB/AAT qualified

Working Hours: Office based Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. With flexibility to work from home on occasion.
