Bakkavor specialise in making and developing private label prepared foods for the top global grocery retailers and well-known international food service operators. As a company we now supply over 5,000 products to the world's largest retailers.

This particular role is at our Bakkavor Meals site, based in Wigan, and specialises in making chilled ready meals, chilled mash potato, food-to-go salads and vegetable accompaniments, and employs over 900 people. The site is based only 2 miles from Wigan, and there is a regular bus service with a bus stop within 5 minutes’ walk of the site.

The Role

We have a great opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team to undertake all things purchase ledger – alongside other ad hoc business administration responsibilities.

Your responsibilities:

• Processing and control of supplier invoices
• Payment of suppliers within agreed terms
• Control over payments to suppliers
• Supplier master file maintenance / control
• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Assisting in ensuring the validity of outstanding PO’s / GRNI / Invoice register
• Controlling over inter-company payments
• Accuracy of PO / Invoice coding
• Accuracy of invoice matching / correct authorisation
• Ad hoc duties such as post / filing / project / banking

The person:

Ideally, you will have previous experience within Purchase Ledger, however individuals with similar administration experience would be considered.

Intermediate excel skills, a flexible attitude to working hours, good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to all levels of the business – will be key.
