Job Introduction

BBC News Persian is one of the biggest language services of World Service, serving audiences in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and around the world. It provides high impact and engaging content on TV, radio, and digital platforms.


We are looking for a talented publicist to promote our award wining journalism, raise awareness about our impartiality and help protect our brand against social media attacks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Seek out publicity opportunities for BBC Persian to amplify the impact of our impartial journalism across global media
  • Set up internal and external events so BBC Persian can raise awareness about the harassment it faces from various sources
  • Support our editorial teams in making entries for awards
  • Handle media queries about BBC Persian journalism in collaboration with the BBC News communication team and BBC’s Press Office
  • Monitor, flag and help diffuse online attacks against BBC Persian and its staff
Are you the right candidate?
  • Fluent in written and spoken Farsi and English.
  • Experience of organising events
  • Proven experience of managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of BBC Social Media Policy
