Our Public Sector Audit team operates across all aspect of the UK Public Sector. Our portfolio includes entities with the NHS, Central Government, Local Government, Charities, Higher Education Institutions and Social Housing.


Our Public Sector Audit team therefore provides you with the opportunity for specialism, whilst maintaining variety in the sectors and clients you work with. The team also deliver several Companies Act audits for subsidiary entities within their portfolio.


What will you be doing?


  • Supervising and coaching junior members of staff to help them realise their full potential.
  • Reviewing the audit work performed by junior team members
  • Project managing the audit delivery, including timelines, team briefings, team supervision, delivery of audit work, and reviews by senior team members, including Directors and Partners
  • Preparing reports to senior management from audited entities and audit committees
  • Conducting the planning and execution of audit fieldwork


What will you need to do it?


  • Audit experience within a ‘Big 4’ consultancy, mid-tier firm, or government / public sector audit department
  • Demonstratable knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, ISAs and the various SORPs adopted by Public Sector Entities
  • Professional qualification from a recognised accountancy body. We will also consider candidates who are exam qualified and/or nearing full qualification
  • Knowledge of International Standards on Auditing
  • Experience of managing small teams, coaching, and mentoring junior staff

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; able to analyse and interpret complex technical information
