Job description

Leisure PR & Communications is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, confident and talented Account Executive, with event experience, to join our growing team and assist in the development of our growing client base.

The successful candidate will be adept with working with clients at a strategic and operational level and play a hands-on role across all of his/her client accounts nurturing direct relationships.

You will oversee day-to-day activity on your accounts and have the responsibility to pro-actively manage activity and media requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Pro-active client liaison, account development and relationship building.
  • In depth knowledge of PR, with excellent writing skills. Experience within the pub, bar, food, drink and leisure sectors is an advantage.
  • Ability to understand what makes a good story, the insight to spot one, and the implementation of skilled tactics to gain outstanding coverage for clients.
  • The ability to create communications that deliver results through solid writing skills across a range of styles; press releases; features; case studies and new media applications such as blogs and Twitter.
  • Delivering events on time, within budget, that meet and exceed expectations. Development, production and delivery of projects and events from proposal right up to delivery.
  • On-time reporting, and strong management of client activity.
  • Active involvement in new business presentations.
  • A passion for PR!

About You:

  • A highly motivated individual with a minimum of 2 years public relations experience, preferably including agency side experience.
  • Experience of working across multiple clients and juggling workloads.
  • Excellent event planning skills and experience in managing multiple events at one time.
  • Excellent client handling skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Proven media relations experience and excellent media contacts.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
  • Team working and communication abilities essential, with strong interpersonal skills
  • A knowledge of Office 365/Sharepoint; media databases and social media platforms

Leisure PR and Communications is a niche agency that assists a range of clients in the licensed leisure sector – these include pub and bar operators, restaurateurs, drinks producers and professional trade associations. The role is based in Richmond, Surrey (District, SWestern Trains and Overground). The candidate will be required to travel to client locations as necessary.
