Job description

A global financial services foreign exchange group is seeking a Public Policy and Innovation Specialist to lead the development and implementation of the company's global public policy strategy, focusing on cross-border payments, digital currencies and underlying technologies.

Key responsibilities:

This role falls within Strategy and Operations, including:

  • Supporting with the development and implementation of the company's global public policy strategy, with a particular focus on activities around digital currencies and innovative technologies).
  • Supporting the creation of policy positions in relation to the FSB’s Cross-Border Payments Roadmap, upcoming reviews of the FX Global Code, and with respect to other public policy developments as they arise.
  • Monitoring and assessing developments in the innovation space (covering assets, infrastructure and ecosystem) which could potentially be relevant for the wider FX ecosystem and for CLS.
  • Leading ideation exercises and crafting concepts around innovation trends in the FX ecosystem, with a specific focus on post-trade activities.
  • Contributing to the drafting of thought leadership pieces (e.g., white papers, speeches) to position the company as an industry expert on key issues relating to the company's strategy.
  • Preparing material for the company's governance bodies on public policy activities, including activities around digital currencies and underlying technologies.
  • Supporting firm-wide preparations for policymaker conferences. Tracks action/follow-up items and drafts event summaries for review by the Head of Public Policy and or Public Policy Lead.
  • Drafting of materials (e.g., agenda, materials, key actions) for meetings with industry groups and public policy makers. Monitors progress against targeted activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience within a relevant industry sector (e.g. technology consulting, public policy, regulation within financial services).
  • Bachelor's degree in finance/economics/information technology.
